Daprodustat is a prescribed medicine for the treatment of:

  • Anemia because of chronic kidney disease.
  • Daprodustat can be given to patients receiving dialysis for at least 4 months.

Tablets of 1 mg, 2 mg, 4 mg, 6 mg, and 8 mg.


Recommended Dosage

  • To be consumed orally once a day with or without food.
  • Check Full Prescribing Information, giving doses based on hemoglobin level, liver function, and concomitant medications, and for dose titration and monitoring recommendations.

Warning and precautions

  • Risk of Hospitalization for Heart Failure: Daprodustat can increase the chances of heart failure in patients with a history of heart failure.
  • Hypertension: can worsen hypertension, including hypertensive crisis may happen. Check blood pressure from time to time and start anti-hypertensive therapy.
  • Gastrointestinal Erosion: Gastric or esophageal erosions and gastrointestinal bleeding can happen.
  • Malignancy: unfavorable effects on cancer growth can happen. Not recommended if active malignancy is there.
