About Welireg

The active substance in Welireg is Belzutifan which is a chemically hypoxia-inducible-2 alpha (HIF-2α) inhibitor. The people who lack VHL protein have a very high level of HIF-2α which in turn can trigger the growth of VHL-associated tumors. The cellular side shows that HIF-2α moves to the cell nucleus and attaches to hypoxia-inducible 1 beta (HIF-1β) which activates tumor cell growth. Belzutifan blocks HIF-2α and inhibits pairing of HIF-2α and HIF-1β which leads to the shrinkage of VHL.
